Coop’s winners and losers- Week 6

Cooper Lockett, Co-Editor in Chief

Winner- Florida: Florida toppled fifth ranked LSU at home Saturday by a score of 27-19. Feleipe Franks played a solid game, throwing for 161 yards one touchdown and one interception. Florida’s defense shined picking off Joe Burrow twice and shutting out Florida in the third quarter. Winning that game will be a huge confidence boost for Florida as they prepare for their date with the second ranked Georgia Bulldogs in three weeks time.

Winner- Notre Dame: Notre Dame was easily the most successful Irish athletic team this past weekend, (Sorry Conor Mcgregor). They cruised past Virginia Tech on Saturday night winning 45-23 in Blacksburg. Ian Book is continuing to Improve at quarterback and they’ve got playmakers all over the field. With performances like this, Notre Dame is looking more and more like a playoff team.

Loser- Oklahoma: Kyler Murray and the Sooners fought hard, but their comeback still came up short against Texas. The real concern for Oklahoma is their defense, they looked totally lost at times and surrendered 48 points. It was a showing that exposed a lot of issues for the Sooners.

Loser- Auburn: The tigers got beat bad by Mississippi State Saturday night. It was a performance they ultimately could not afford to have, this is a team that has to play Alabama and Georgia later this year and after crumbling against Mississippi State, I’m not optimistic about their chances in either of those games.
