Monday afternoon the Wando girls tennis team defeated Dutch Fork High School 6-0 in their second playoff match of the season.

Wando’s number one singles player, sophomore Kelsey Sinclaire, was down in the first set 1-4 but quickly came back and won 6-4, 6-2. Number three singles player, freshman Lily Zimmermann, won her first set 6-2, then pulled through her second set with a final score of 7-5. Number two singles, Abby Sinclaire (senior), four singles, Grace McKellar (senior), and five singles, Ellie Zimmermann (junior), all won their matches; losing no more than four games collectively. Number two doubles, Adelia Phillips (senior) and Emma Chadwick (sophomore), won their match 6-0, 6-0.

The Lady Warriors take on Summerville High School at home on Oct. 31. If they win, there is a chance they will play River Bluff High School, the team they lost to in the lower state finals last year.
