Former Editor in Chief Morgan Cook and former Editorial Editor Charlotte Baxter are finalists for national awards at the National Scholastic Press Association. Cook placed for national writer of the year and national news story of the year, Baxter placed for national editorial cartoon of the year. The Tribal Tribune’s sister program, the Wando ‘Legend’ Yearbook has two of their current Editor in Chiefs nominated for awards, with Maria Gonzalez nominated for national writer of the year, and Hannah Whitaker nominated for national designer of the year in addition to national yearbook design of the year. Current Wando Photography Editor in Chief Gabbi Mortellaro placed for national photojournalist of the year.
