Orchestra Concert Surprises with Holiday Twist

Liz Hipes, Staff Writer

Nine songs. Seemed simple enough. Nine songs that were practiced over and over again.

And now was the time to put all of that practice to the test.

But when there are roughly 160 students putting it all together into an hour and change concert, the task just got a whole lot harder.

On Thursday, Dec. 14 the Concert, Chamber and Honors orchestras had their winter concert.

This concert came with a slight twist as student guitarist Brendan Cady and student drummer Mason Malone helped accompany the orchestras in different arrangements like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Carol of the Bells”

All of the songs performed by all of the orchestras with be showcased at the National Orchestra Festival in March.
