April 30, 2019
Senior Jack Frain won a National Merit Scholarship, something only 1,000 high schoolers in the country were given.
Frain, along with three other Charleston County School District to achieve this scholarship, will receive up to four years of college education with scholarships, due to his constant diligence in academics and athletics, as well as being endorsed by many teachers on his perseverance and dedication.
“It feels amazing because it’s a big relief for my family as well as being a way to know all my work paid off,” Frain said. “I’ve been at this for years and knowing the opportunities that will come from this is very exciting,” Frain said.
Over 1.6 million students competed through different rounds that showcased their abilities in school and other aspects of extracurricular activities. Frain plans to attend Vanderbilt University in the fall of 2019.
