The winners of Wando’s 2019 Poetry Out Loud competition are Alaina Crothers who came in 1st, Lily Zimmerman in 2nd, and Claire Anderson in 3rd.

This years group of competitors were judged by Emilie Woodie, Marcus Amaker, and Katie Givens. The event’s prompter was Lucye Magill.

Over the course of a month 500+ freshmen memorized poems and competed against one another in Wando’s Poetry Out Loud competition. They braved the stage and showed off their public speaking and memorization skills. They showcased beautiful poetry and phenomenal stage presence.
