“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” On a Mission for Fun
September 13, 2016
Recent superhero TV shows “Jessica Jones” & “Daredevil” have shown the grittier, much darker side of Marvel. Thankfully, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” keeps the light-hearted humor and morals of the cinematic universe.
The show centers around the protagonist, Skye (Chloe Bennet), and her all-star group of practically undefeatable agents: May (Ming Na Wen), scientists Leopold Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and ex-comrade Grant Ward (Brett Dalton).
The plot is enough to keep you craving for more, which is perfect for Netflix binge nights (or for some of us, every night). The acting is phenomenal — Marvel outdoes itself again and again. The action and drama (especially the logic games between the characters) are reasonable and realistic.
I was hesitant about the new character additions, but eventually grew warm to them. It bothered me that their introductions butted into the original five. On a side note, the producers enjoy killing off favorite and loved characters — its bound to start a revolt.
Overall, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a great action-filled drama if you want that sense of adrenaline filling your body. Netflix has all the seasons if you want to start right now. You better get going, because season four’s coming soon!
