Prom, one of the most highly anticipated events of the year, was on April 17. As Wando Theatre put on the musical “Chicago” in March, the prom committee felt it would be just right to make the theme of this year’s prom, “All That Jazz.”
Many students had a lot to say about prom night and the memories made alongside fellow students.

“It was really fun … I got to see some of my friends and I thought the vibe of the dance was great,” Richter said. “I loved all the decor and the lighting and how everything was set up was super cool … and just seeing the theme and how they worked around it was special.”
Junior Madeline Welsh attended prom and got to see many of her friends.
“My favorite part of prom was seeing all my friends, but I really liked the music,” Welsh said. “The [dance] floor was really fun, just to see everyone dancing and having a good time.”
Students like Welsh also mentioned the fun and carefree atmosphere of prom as a highlight.

“I liked the atmosphere a lot. It was very open and I like that there were different sections of where you could go, like you could sit down, go on the dance floor or go to the photo booth,” Welsh said.
Junior Reese Emory recalls similar feelings about the night.
”I got to see all my friends, the music was great and the vibe was high,” Emory said.
Overall, Wando students seem to have a shared opinion on the prom and it looks like the “All That Jazz” prom theme was a huge success.
“Everything and everyone was pretty hype,” Richter said. “The music was great, and getting to see all my friends. I mean even the lighting and decorations, the energy was definitely there.”
