Tribal Jams: Songs About NYC

Adam Duffy, Staff Writer

New York, home to numerous artists synonymous with their genres. Nas, Frank Sinatra, Elton John and Notorious B.I.G. all reign from The Big Apple. In this week’s Tribal Jams, we put together our favorite tunes about New York City.

In our “Songs About NYC” playlist, we mix genres ranging from great artists paying tribute to The City. Starting with the Beastie Boys rap about their mischievous tours, leading to Lou Reeds hard and fast “Walk On the Wild Side”, singing about his ventures through the concrete jungle. All in all, New York is the place to be for musical talent. After all, Beyonce all told us, “These streets will feel brand new; these lights will inspire you; Let’s hear it for New York”
