Quill and Scroll is an international honors journalism organization that awards high school students for high achievement in areas such as writing, design and photography.
This year, the staff of Wando’s yearbook, Legend, broke last year’s previous record of 14 individual awards by winning 29 awards this year, making it their best showing in all of Legend’s history.
Yearbook co-editor in chief Haylee Langdon sees this honor as a testament to all of the staff’s hard work.
“Putting in that extra effort to get us this far is what made the award so special to see,” Langdon said. “I also know … how hard people work in this classroom and I know how challenging it can be to get this far.”
In addition to the individual awards won, the Legend staff was recognized with Quill and Scroll’s highest award, The Blue and Gold Staff Excellence Award, for the fourth year in a row.
With another record breaking publication and achieving The Blue and Gold Staff Excellence Award once again, the Legend staff continues to prove that by mixing talent, hard work and dedication, they are constantly raising the bar.
